Preparatory Year

The essential foundation for international students to master the Russian language and excel in their future university degree.

No Language Background Required

More Than Just a Language Course

Many students ask: "Can't I start my degree immediately?" Here is why the Preparatory Year is the most important investment in your Russian education.

1. Academic Terminology

Knowing how to speak Russian in the street is different from understanding a Medical Biology or Quantum Physics lecture. This year teaches you the "Scientific Russian" needed for your specific major.

2. Legal Entry Requirement

For most Russian-medium programs, the State Certificate of the Preparatory Department is a mandatory document for university enrollment. It proves you are academically ready for the Russian system.

3. Cultural Integration

Moving to Russia is a big shift. This year allows you to adapt to the climate, laws, and lifestyle while you are in a supportive environment, reducing "culture shock" before your intense degree starts.

4. Significant Cost Savings

Studying in Russian is 30% to 50% cheaper than English-medium programs. By investing one year in the language, you save thousands of dollars over the full duration of your degree.

Expert Insight:

Even for students planning to study in English, we highly recommend a basic preparatory course. Understanding the local language is the key to a successful social life and better internship opportunities in Russia.
